No the problem still persists, even on a fresh boot, closed down all processes I could, then maximised foobar, speed was fine for a minute, then slowed down to barely above zero. Just trying to cover all bases so the root of the problem can be found for you. It lasts for a few seconds, then goes away. Like if I replaygain 1 file, while playcount updates another. Yo I am also a student but I looked on the forums for help So basically, you need to get a recording of your sound and then put it in the sounds folder of your greenfoot project. Die Audiodatei kann nicht mehrmals simultan abgespielt werden. See if that increases performance? Also, when trying to update two of the same files (or different ones) at the same time, I get slow down also. Ein Objekt der Klasse GreenfootSound kann Klänge aus einer Datei laden. Try doing your operations with NOTHING running except the necessary files (AV, firewall etc) and foobar maximized. Like in my previous discussion I am trying to make a settings menu in my Settings world where it has options such as a button that mutes sound effects from actors in my PlayWorld. Then you can start and stop the sound like this: sound.start () //start playing the sound sound.stop () //stop playing the sound ayLoop () //plays the sound over and over again //also you can use any other mehtod from the GreenfootSound class AceticAcid. I have 1GB of ram, so shouldn't be a problem I don't think. Hi all, Id thought that I would create another discussion in case there are people who also have the same problem as me. You should create this sound as a global one (at the top of your code). So they have to buffer on every play, which causes a delay between the time you tell a sound to play, and the time you actually hear it. I don't know what the problem is, but it seems to happen randomly. I think the problem is that sounds in Greenfoot are streamed each time you play them, rather than loaded fully into memory and read from there on each play. My replaygain can get down to 0.00x speed, and sit there until I maximize foobar to get Firefox off the screen. Most files of the following formats are supported: AIFF, AU, WAV, MP3 and MIDI. The sound cannot be played several times simultaneously, but can be played several times sequentially. A GreenfootSound loads the audio from a file.
